Downloading Ringtones

Now, it all begins to come together. Your ringtone is on its way to your phone and this is the last leg of the relay.

Receiving Text Messages on Your Phone
The text message tells your phone where to get the ringtone. When you open the text message, you will see a mobile Internet address - your ringtone is waiting for you there. All Xingtone-compatible phones have an option that takes you to the Internet link. This option may vary from phone-to-phone so any option such as Visit Site, Go To, or Extract URL/Address is the one to choose. Keep in mind, in order to receive the text message, you must keep the program open on your desktop. At this time, it's also important that your mobile service coverage is adequate enough to receive text messages and download data.

Connecting to Xingtone's Site in Your Mobile Browser
Now your phone connects to the mobile Internet and loads a web page with the final link to your actual ringtone. On your phone, scroll down to the link that says, Xingtone for your Phone and press OK, Select, or Enter to begin downloading. In most cases, the phone displays the download in progress.

Sometimes this process takes a little time. Keep in mind that you are making a wireless connection to the Internet and mobile network traffic comes into play. Please be patient. If you have consistent trouble, try to access another web page in your mobile browser just to make sure that your are able to transmit mobile data. Sometimes, people report errors during this process that include Bad Gateway, Unsupported Format, or Forbidden. We hate these words just as much as you do, but such errors usually occur because the file size you have sent is too large. On the desktop, please trim your file to a shorter length and test what file size/length you can successfully download through the network.

Downloading and Using Ringtones on Your Phone
When the ringtone download is complete, the phone is usually smart enough to give you a preview or, at least, store it in your Sounds or Ringtones folder. When you go to that folder and select your ringtone, there is an option such as Set As or Assign that allows the phone to play that audio when your phone rings. Because phones are so advanced now, you can usually set a specific ringtone to play when someone in your phone book calls you or when you receive a text message or voicemail. This is where Xingtone's unlimited ringtone creating power really comes in handy. You will always have a fresh supply of cool and unique ringtones!

Ringtone Quality: What to Expect
Depending on the quality of your source file and your phone's speaker, you may notice variations in ringtone quality, but the word on the street is that Xingtone creates the best-sounding real music ringtones. You can also experiment with the volume setting in the program to make slight adjustments. Keep in mind that Xingtone always seeks to make improvements in its product and as networks allow customers to transmit more data and phones become more sophisticated, the possibilities are endless!
