App Of The Week: iTeleport

IN SHORT: iTeleport is a great way to connect to your computer from anywhere in the world, allowing you to act as though you’re sat next to your desktop through your iPhone. Limited, of course, but for those new to VNC this seems revolutionary. We’ve had a lot of fun with it.

THE LOWDOWN: Now in its fourth incarnation and on offer for both Windows and Mac computers, iTeleport basically does exactly what it says on the tin. You can access multiple machines on the same network, providing you’ve taken the time to enable them, and the displays are shown in great resolution straight onto your iPhone or iPad. There’s some great gesture control for zooming, clicking through to different features and generally messing with your options. The there’s the typing options, clever mouse control and more other options than you’ll probably ever play with. Having said that, this is at the expensive end of the app market, and that will put plenty of people off. One for those with a love of the technical and a need for external control, but it does it superbly.
