US Ringtone Charts 14/03/2010

US Singles Chart:

1. Taio Cruz featuring Ludacris – Break Your Heart (last week – 53) – SONG OF THE WEEK!

Xingtone aren’t in the habit of giving ‘song of the week’ to both number ones, but we can’t deny Taio Cruz after his epic 53-place rise on his second week on the charts. Break Your Heart – the remix – is actually the second number one hit for this particular track, with the first having come in the UK with the original version. Prolific to say the least.

2. Lady Antebellum – Need You Now (last week – 3)

Empty feelings in the middle of the night fuel Lady Antebellum’s hit single, with the group collectively missing their late night hug-ins. We’re sure they’re not short of an offer or two on the back of this single, now on its 30th week at the top end of the US singles charts, and still rising. 3. Young Money Featuring Lloyd – BedRock (last week – 2)

A fifteenth week on the charts for the clean version of Young Money’s new single, which sees the rap collaboration give the slightly crude punch line “Call me Mr Flintstone, I can make your BedRock. Like we haven’t heard that one before! Grab some ringtone rap from Young Money here.

4. Rihanna – Rude Boy (last week – 8)

Rihanna’s clearly had a few issues with bad boys in her time, with the lyrics to ‘Rude Boy’ exploring the bad times in a blasé yet clearly heartfelt way. We feel for her, but then again, if you go for bad boys, what do you expect, Rihanna? Download your own Rihanna Ringtones here.

5. The Black Eyed Peas – Imma Be (last week – 1)

14th week on the chart for the latest in a long line of Black Eyed Peas hits. The Energy Never Dies, the album that features this single, is still selling incredibly well, too. No doubt these guys could retire today if they wanted to, though with their pop-tinged creativity still on the up, we wouldn’t bet on it. You can get your own little taste of the Black Eyed Peas ringtones here.

US Albums Chart:

1. Lady Antebellum – Need You Now (last week – 2)

Lady Antebellum could hardly have asked for a better start to 2010. Country stars have always had a major place in US music, but to reach such a consistent chart-topping position is beyond the scope of most. Need You Now is by far their most successful effort so far. Grab some Lady Antebellum country ringtones here.

2. Sade – Soldier Of Love (last week – 1)

Their first original material since 2000, and Sade are not only right back where they started from, but have far surpassed their original achievements. Solider Of Love got hype from industry insiders as early as March 2009, almost a full year before release, so perhaps we shouldn’t be so surprised… You can get old and new Sade ringtones by clicking here.

3. Blake Shelton – Hillybilly Bone EP (new entry)

Blake Shelton adds another notch to the country bow, and tops this week’s three new entries. This EP is his seventh studio release, and features six tracks that form part of the singer’s new ‘three EPs a year’ policy, which aims to give fans access to his music at a bargain price. 4. Danny Gokey – My Best Days (new entry)

Danny Gokey rounds out an incredible week for country in the US album charts, notching a number four album and yet still only clocking a number three on the country charts. The church-focused singer songwriter is a new national star, ‘My Best Days’ his debut album. Get your own taste of Danny Gokey in ringtone form, here.

5. Alice In Wonderland: Almost Alice (Soundtrack) (new entry)

Not the actual soundtrack, but music inspired by the film Alice In Wonderland, featuring the likes of Avril Lavigne, Franz Ferdinand, Wolfmother and The Cure’s Robert Smith. It’s every bit as quirky and interesting as the film would lead you to expect.
