About B.B. KingArguably the most recognizable blues singer in the world, B.B. King started out as a 15-year-old playing a $15 guitar in a local gospel group. Today, in his 80s, he's still performing regularly, and is estimated to have played in excess of 15,000 live shows to date. Tracks like Please Love Me, Ten Long Years, You Know I Love You and Woke Up This Morning saw King play as an opening act for The Rolling Stones on their 1969 tour, and also win substantial awards like the Polar Music Prize for 'exceptional achievements in the creation and advancement of music'. A massive fan of Frank Sinatra, King has married and divorced twice, and is rumored to be the father of at least fifteen children. To this day, Indianapolis maintains an annual B.B. King homecoming festival held in early June.
