About Candi StatonCandi Staton - a shortening of real name Cazetta Staton - is an Alabama gospel and R&B singer who's been performing live for over half a century. Part of the traditional gospel circuit touring southern America in 50s, Candi grew from performing in a trio with her sister and friend to an established solo artist, known for iconic tracks like You've Got the Love, Young Hearts Run Free and Suspicious Minds. A restyled version of You Got the Love was launched as a dance single in 1991, selling over two million copies, but most of Staton's more recent work is firmly in the gospel genre, efforts for which she's received two Grammy nominations. She now runs a Ministry, together with fourth husband John Sussewell, as well as touring around the world with a well-established set list full of decades of hits.
