About CastBritpop mainstays Cast faded into obscurity following the death of all but the peak of the Britpop movement in the late 90s, and eventually split in 2002. Not before achieving some notable successes, though, such as top ten singles Sandstorm, Flying and Live the Dream. 1997 album Mother Nature Calls peaked at number three in the UK, following a UK tour in support of Britpop legends Oasis, who were impressed by Cast's credentials - John Power was formerly a member of The Las, who Noel Gallagher of Oasis aimed to emulate when Oasis started out - and signed the band up for an early tour off the back of a demo CD played to them backstage at a gig. An odd latino phase enveloped Cast's last album prior to split, and was highly commercially unsuccessful. Equally bizarrely, Mother Nature Calls was named by Power when sitting on the toilet.
