About Dana InternationalIsraeli superstar Dana International shot to European fame in 1998 after winning the Eurovision song contest with the song Diva. Having released thirteen albums in her native Israel to date, though, Dana remains best known as one of the world's most famous transsexuals. She came out as transsexual at the age of only 13, and at 18 made a living as a drag act performing songs by major local pop stars. She disappeared from the scene for a few years in 2002, after a disagreement with Sony, but returned in force in 2007 with the most played Israeli radio song of the decade, Love Boy. An April 2009 tour took Dana to Tel Aviv, where she performed in front of a quarter of a million people. She's currently working on her next album, as well as acting a judge on the Israeli version of Pop Idol.
