About FLO RidaFlo Rida (pronounced Flow Rider) is, perhaps unsurprisingly, a native of Miami, Florida, and started out his rap career as a teenage member of 2 Live Crew. Worldwide popularity arrived when he went solo, however, starting out with number one single Low from debut solo album 'Mail On Sunday'. He often works together with other artists, such as in recent UK number one single Bad Boys with Alexandra Burke - other collaborations have included Nelly Furtado, Will.i.am, Ne-Yo and Akon. Second album R.O.O.T.S (Route of Overcoming the Struggle) holds the record for the most digital sales within a week (in excess of 600,000), and led to another number one hit, Right Round. The album was also nominated for two Grammy Awards. Flo Rida - born Tramar Dillard - started a business degree after leaving school, but eventually quit to focus on his musical output instead.
