About Infected MushroomAn Israeli duo currently based in Los Angeles, progressive trance stars Infected Mushroom are heavily acclaimed for the development they show album to album, and forever linked strongly with the notorious Goa trance scene in India. With a name stolen from a disbanded local rock band, the duo sometimes incorporate classical leanings, Middle Eastern styles and melodies. Controversially titled 2003 album 'Converting Vegetarians' was a two-disc effort, split across a standard dance disc and a highly experimental disc that stepped well away from their origins, indulging in genres like electro and R&B. Recently the duo have remained the highest placed 'psytrance' artist in DJ magazines significant top 100 DJ charts, and are widely considered pioneers of the genre. They've also begun incorporating drums and percussion into their music. 2009's 'The Legend of the Black Shawarma' was originally a concept album based around the band's favorite restaurants.
