About Ja RuleRapper Jeffrey Atkins, better known by his stage name Ja Rule, is a New York native who's released a total of six albums to date. Having gone steadily downhill since the arrival of 50 Cent and G-Unit on the musical horizon, Ja Rule's most successful tracks to date are Holla Holla, Murda and Put It On Me while the album Venni Vetti Vicci has sold in excess of two million copies. Collaborations have included Jay Z, Missy Elliott, Tupac Shakur and Jennifer Lopez. He's also forged a successful acting career, appearing in movies like Scary Movie 3 and Shall We Dance? Ja Rule was raised as a Jehovah's Witness in Queens, and has an extensive criminal record that has seen him definitively banned from Canada. A new mixtape, entitled 'Welcome to New York, is due to be released in 2009.
