About KelisNew Yorker Kelis - whose name comes from an amalgamation of her father and mother's names - is currently working on her as yet untitled 5th album. 2003's 'Tasty' is her most successful effort to date, selling two million copies worldwide, while the singles Milkshake, Trick Me, Lil Star and Millionaire all peaked inside the UK top five. She is yet to pick up a UK number one. Originally part of The Neptunes - who she used as a stepping stone to a record deal - and until recently married to rapper Nas, Kelis is also known as something of a socialite, and has a strong interest in fashion and even fashion design. She's also worked with 'Ol Dirty Bastard, N.E.R.D, Andre 3000 and, of course, Nas. Away from the singing, Kelis is also working on her own cookbook, fashion accessories and high heeled shoe line.
