About Lee Scratch PerryAn influential pioneer of Jamaican music, particularly in the reggae and dub genres, Lee 'Scratch' Perry (a.k.a. Pipecock Jackxon or The Upsetter) is responsible for 60 odd studio albums, including four released as recently as 2008. He's won a Grammy Award for his efforts, and now performs as more of a performance artist that reggae singer, in a style far removed from his original reggae days. Perry has recently worked with the likes of Moby and Andrew W.K, and was also heavily involved in production in his heyday, producing influential reggae artists like Bob Marley & the Wailers and Junior Murvin at his 'Black Ark' studio, which he built in his back yard. The studio has since been burned to the ground, something Perry says he did himself in a fit of rage. He now lives in Switzerland with his wife.
