A sensational sequence of hits including Our House, House of Fun and the iconic Wings of a Dove saw the band dominate the UK charts throughout the early 80s, clocking up an astonishing 214 weeks of chart time. The comedy lyrics of 1999 single Lovestruck signaled a resurgence after four years of split, one that eventually lead to a major tour and festival appearances off the back of album The Liberty of Norton Felgate. Having once played a show so loud that local residents reported an earthquake to the police, and had an early 21st century London musical based around their music, the bouncy, riotous sax sounds of Madness are a veritable UK institution.
