About MarioHaving started off aiming primarily at a teenage market, young, downbeat American R&B artist Mario's second album Turning Point took him in a more mature direction, and included the number one single Let Me Love You, written by Ne-Yo. Earlier single Just a Friend 2002 is a cover of a Biz Markie hit, in which Mario sings waving, downbeat lyrics on his desire to know more about - and do more with - a girl who wants to be just friends. 2007 album Go is heavily influenced by Mario's upbringing, and aims to connect emotionally with youngsters who've been through similar tough experiences to the singer. Further musical associations have included Akon and Timbaland. As well as a successful singing career, Mario has also dabbled in acting, worked on behalf of several charities, and appeared as a competitor in season six of the TV game show Dancing With Stars.
