The first of the two albums is currently the tenth most successful in the UK ever (by weeks spent on the chart), and led to collaborations with legends such as Bonnie Tyler and comedian John Cleese. Oldfield's work also featured in major movies such as Killing Fields and The Exorcist. Pop-oriented efforts include Moonlight Shadow, which later became a major hit for German dance act Groove Coverage. Oldfield loves motorbikes, and claims his music is often inspired by his rides. Recent comments about the UK's overly controlling political nature caused some controversy; Mike now lives in Monaco.
