Noel - originally a roadie for 'Madchester' band Inspiral Carpets - joined brother Liam, a singer in the band 'The Rain', and Oasis soon went on to become British legends, forming a strong rivalry with fellow 'Britpop' stars Blur along the way. A resurgence in popularity recently bought the band back into the headlines, before Oasis' problems returned. In 2009 Oasis failed to reach the stage at what will probably be their final gig, at Rock En Seine Festival in Paris. A pre-show fight between the ever volatile Liam and brother Noel led to Liam smashing Noel's guitar, and Noel leaving the band, stating that he could no longer work with his brother.
