His lengthy career and amazing number of hit albums have earned Charles his place at tenth in Rolling Stone magazines top 100 artists of all time. Ray Charles played his last performance in public in 2004 when his music studio was officially declared an historical landmark. Unfortunately, the singer died only a few months later. Genius Loves Company, his very last album, was released shortly after his death and went on to win no less than eight Grammy Awards.
