About Robbie WilliamsRobbie Williams is one of those rare artists that have enjoyed massive chart success in the UK while finding in nearly impossible to replicate any of the same success in the United States, despite a number of attempts. Born in Stoke-On-Trent, England in 1974, Robbie was a member of Take That until the band split up in 1996 and was the only member of the hit band to form a lasting solo career. Robbie's first number one single in the UK barely scraped 72 on the billboard charts in the US however. Even his biggest single, Angels, only managed the reach 41. He has had some success though - a compilation of his first two studio albums managed to gold in the States in 1999. Robbie music has changed over the years after Take That, from the soft, pop rock 'Angels' to the far more electronic and dance theme 'Rudebox' nearly ten years later.
