About Ryan AdamsRyan Adams is a popular alt-country artist from North Carolina. He was born in 1974 and began his musical career in 1991 at just 16 years old. His first attempts at the mainstream were with the band he formed as a teenager - Whiskeytown. The alternative country band lasted for a large section of the mid nineties and recorded 3 full length studio albums. Ryan Adams has made a name for himself more as a solo artist however, releasing 5 solo albums in four years and another six with the Cardinals, another American rock and alt-country band founded and fronted by the singer. Adams is most famous for his 2001 single, 'New York, New York' listed in the Guardians list of 1000 songs everyone must hear and reaching 53 in the UK charts.
