About Salt N PepaThe best selling female rap group of all time, Salt N pepa formed in 1985, and after a brief hiatus in the early part of the century are back in the musical fray today. Cheryl Wray ('salt'), Sandra Denton ('pepa') and DJ Dee Dee Roper ('Spinderella') make up the trio, who are best known for tracks like Fresher's dance floor fillers Push It, Twist and Shout and Let's Talk About Sex. Having originally been called Supernature, it was second album A Salt With a Deadly Pepa that bought the threesome into the 80s pop limelight, and won the band a Grammy Award. On disbanding in 2002, 'salt' said she no longer wanted to work in the music industry, but nevertheless went on to attempt a solo album. The single Let's Talk About Sex was later rewritten as a highly recognizable AIDS awareness track called Let's Talk About AIDS.
