About Spice GirlsThe spice girls released their debut single 'Wannabe' in 1996 and went on to become one of the most successful girl groups of all time. Their first album, "Spice" went on to sell 23 million copies worldwide and was followed by three further bestselling albums. In 1997 the group released the film 'Spiceworld: The Movie' which accompanied the album 'Spiceworld'. The film was a box office hit despite being panned by critics. In 1998 Geri Halliwell left the group and this led to a complete split in 2000 after which all five members pursued solo careers. In 2007 the group announced a greatest hits album and reunion tour which was met with great excitement by fans. However the tour was ended prematurely in February 2008 with the group playing their last show together in Toronto.
