About Spinal TapUnlike most other bands, Spinal Tap is almost entirely fictional. We say almost because they have produced real music as well as attending numerous live shows. The band was the subject of the fictional documentary,' This is Spinal Tap' released in 1984. However, the band did exist before that in a Comedy Special on US TV station, ABC.The film also had a soundtrack of the same name which accounts for one the bands releases but there was another album created by the actors who portrayed the band in 1992 titled 'Break Like the Wind'. There fictional discography is much larger however, including more than 10 studio albums, 2 live albums and a compilation, spanning over 30 years of 'made up' music.Spinal Tap is due to release an album and play a live one off show in 2009.
