About StereophonicsThe Stereophonics formed in the confusingly named village of Cwmaman in Wales at the start of the 90s. The band plays a variety of indie and alternative rock songs that some people describe as 'Britpop'. The current lineup consists of Kelly Jones, Richard Jones, Adam Zindani and Javier Weyler. Weyler replaced original drummer Stuart Cable after he left the band in 2003.The height of the bands fame was enjoyed in the mid to late nineties, although this isn't that surprising considering it took the band quite a few years to produce their first studio album, 'Word Gets Around', which peaked and number 6 in the UK charts. The albums spawned five singles, four of which reached the top 40 in the UK with 'Local Boy in the Photograph' reaching 14th. After this release, the band enjoyed a large worldwide tour.The band is currently working on their seventh studio album.
