About StyxStyx is an American rock band that formed in 1970. The band broke up in 1984 only to reform in 1989. Styx then broke up again in 1992 and then reformed in 1995. They are still together today, although only frontman James "J.Y." Young was in the bands original 1972 lineup, which included Dennis DeYoung and John Panozzo. Original member Chuck Panozzo also plays for the band occasionally as a guest musician but is no longer a full time member.Styx was at their most famous during the eighties. In 1981 the album 'Paradise Theatre' reached number one on the bill pop charts and spawned five big hits for the band, including 'The Best of Times' which reached number three in the US charts. This album became the fourth multi-platinum album for the band, which has released 15 full length albums.Styx is continuing to tour and have recently released a single with REO Speedwagon.
