About Sum 41Sum 41 is rock band from Ontario, Canada. Although the band started off playing pop punk songs similar in style to Blink 182, their more recent offerings have often had a heavier and more metal style. Indeed, the band cites Metallica and Iron Maiden as some of their key influences, along with The Offspring, The Beatles and Oasis.The band currently consists of frontman Deryck Whibley, Bassist Jason McCaslin and drummer Steve Jocz. Only Whibley was in the original band lineup when they formed in 1996.Sum 41's first album 'All Killer No Filler' met with commercial success topping the US Modern Rock chart. The singles 'Fat Lip', 'Motivation' and 'In too Deep' all become commercial successes as well. In their home country of Canada, the band achieved triple platinum status.Sum 41 is currently working on a new album to be released in 2009.
