About Tears For FearsFormed in 1981, Tears for Fears are a British pop band with new wave and synthpop leanings. The band moved from more electronic music into a more rock sound during the mid eighties. The band has sold over 22 million albums worldwide.Current members of the band include Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith with Ian Stanley and Manny Elias being previous members. Both of the members still in the band were also in the original 1981 line-up.The group have released six full length albums between 1983 and 2004. They were a success from their very first album which has since got platinum in the UK and Canada and has sold over 2 million copies worldwide. Their biggest success was found in their second album 'Songs from the Big Chair' which went 5x platinum in the US and included the hit singles 'Shout' and 'Everybody Wants to Rule the World'.Tears for Fears are planning a short tour of the United States in 2009.
