About TexasEclectic Scottish alternative rockers Texas - fronted by the charismatic Sharleen Spiteri - peaked in the late 90s in the UK with number one albums The Hush and White On Blonde, as well as a massively successful Greatest Hits album. Tracks like Say What You Want, Summer Son, debut single I Don't Want A Lover and Sleep are often associated with blues, and rely heavily on Spiteri's powerful vocals. I Don't Want A Lover almost had Texas labeled as a one hit wonder; following its release their next two albums flopped, before the band - which currently features seven members - finally charted high again in 1997. Their fame was reignited by UK comedy 'The Office', in which David Brent claims the band used to open for his (fictional) band 'Foregone Conclusion'. Sharleen Spiteri is currently working on solo projects, following Texas' 2007 live album 'The BBC Sessions'.
