About The AtarisThe Ataris are a pop punk group from Indiana, US. As one of the oldest pop punk bands around, The Ataris have been recording since 1995 spending their first 7 years at famous punk rock record label 'Kung Fu Records' before they moved to major label Columbia in 2003.The band is well known for their emotionally driven punk music that got more and more mature as the band itself grew up. Songs about girls and being a punk dissolved into nostalgic memories of the old days through the bands first four albums. The Atari's fifth album 'Welcome the Night' completely changed the band musical direction producing a much heavier and darker musical style.The Atari's have only released 6 singles in four years and few of them have ever become chart successes, the band failing to capitalise on the popularity of pop punk in the late nineties. Their highest charting single was a cover of Bryan Adams song 'The boys of Summer', which reach #2 in the US Modern Rock charts.
