Despite coming close several times with a two #2 albums 'Surfin' USA' in 1963 and 'Summer Days (and Summer Nights!!)' in 1965. The band has produced several hit singles including 'Barbara Ann', 'I Get Around' and 'Good Vibrations'.The remaining members of the Beach Boys are planning to tour the US in 2009.
