The Clash was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.Like most early punk bands the band were often politically motivated. They generally sung about leftist and liberal ideas. The band also resisted the efforts of their record label to charge fans high prices for their singles and tours leaving them in debt to CBS until the early eighties.The band released six studio albums including the #2 UK charting albums 'Give 'Em Enough Rope' and 'Combat Rock'.
