About The CureThe Cure formed in the town of Crawley, near London, in 1976. Since their first days as a band they've played an eclectic mix of new wave, post-punk and alternative rock music and achieved massive commercial acclaim selling nearly 30 million albums across the world.The current line-up consists of Robert Smith (Vocals), Simon Gallup (Bass Guitar), Porl Thompson (Guitar, Keyboard) and Jason Cooper (Drums, Percussion). Of these, only Robert Smith has been in the band from formation. Porl Thompson was also a member in 1976 but left the band twice in 1978 and 1993.The Cure has a large discography of thirteen full studio albums and nearly forty singles. The cure were most successful in the mid eighties to mid nineties when they released seven albums all of which peaking in the top 10 in the UK. Although they haven't seen as a big success in the US, their 1992 album "Wish" got to #2 in the charts.
