About The Dandy WarholsA US rock band that played a mix of garage and alternative rock, the Dandy Warhols have been playing since 1993 when they formed in the city of Portland, Oregon. The band took their major influences from The Beach Boys, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Simon and Garfunkel.The original line-up consisted of Courtney Taylor-Taylor, Zia McCabe, Peter Holmstrom and Eric Hedford. Hedford left the band in 1998 - it was claimed by Taylor-Taylor that he had wanted a greater percentage of the bands royalties, although Hedford denies this. He was replaced by Brent De Boer who has been in the band since.The band's most successful track was 'Bohemian Like You'. The song was released in 2000 but didn't reach any great levels of success. However, after featuring in a phone advert it gained a lot of radio airtime and eventually reached #5 in the UK charts when it was reissued a year later.
