About UB40Birmingham experimental reggae band UB40's most famous tracks are all covers; their three UK numbers one to date are Red Red Wine, Can't Help Falling in Love With You and I Got You Babe. The biggest hits might be covers, but the band do have over 50 UK top 40 hits, and have sold an impressive 70 million albums worldwide. Their name is a reference to an unemployment form commonly used in the UK at the time (Unemployed Benefit Form 40), while tha band caught their big break after being asked to support The Pretenders on their UK tour. UB40 have released a massive 43 studio and live albums, the most recent of which - Love Songs - peaked at number 3 in the UK charts, and consisted of heartfelt, emotional songs that incorporated a lot of the bands older material. As well as being nominated for an early Grammy Award, UB40 have worked with Madness and Robert Palmer.
