About YellowcardFlorida rockers Yellowcard's material spans heavy genres, incorporating punk and melodic hardcore sounds into a more recent spate of alternative rock tracks. The band is currently taking a hiatus of undefined duration (one that has sparked rumors that they might be done altogether), and are known amongst rock fans for their unusual use of the violin, as well as successful tracks Only One, Lights and Sounds and Ocean Avenue. Following a hardcore opening, second album 'Where We Stand' took the band into pop-punk territory, alienated their previous fans and gave them what amounted to a completely new start. Having gone through a variety of members - and a period as the darlings of punk rock festival tours - singer Ryan Key is now contributing to side project The Big If, who, to date, have only released a number of demo style tracks on their MySpace site.
